Course Description:
The course is designed for health professionals who are interested in conducting
and evaluating reproductive health surveillance systems and who need a working
knowledge of surveillance in reproductive health. The course will teach theory
and practices of surveillance applied to reproductive health. The course includes
overview of public health surveillance, principles and application of surveillance
in reproductive health, sources and collection of data, analysis and interpretation
of surveillance data, communication and dissemination of surveillance data,
and evaluation of public health surveillance activities. Several activities in surveillance
process will be introduced and participants will perform them in laboratory
settings (i.e. questionnaire development, data entry, data management, data analysis).
Participants will also be given the opportunity to design and evaluate a
surveillance system
